In the 1920s, Beechwold was a weekend retreat neighborhood just ten miles north of Columbus, Ohio. At present day the Old Beechwold neighborhood is a historic district where multiple classic homes are undergoing Restorations and Renovations. Our task with this restoration was to update sensibly while maintaining the historic value of the home. The only additions were to orient the front door to the proper side of the home and connecting the entrance to the street with an updated colonnade with a pergola as well as a small addition to the outbuilding which was the former “Monkey House” for the original Columbus Zoo.
